What about these alterations of the original?

from random import random
randBools = lambda size: tuple(random() < 0.5 for _ in range(size))
randInts = lambda size: tuple(int(random() < 0.5) for _ in range(size))

Or for the last lambda:

randInts = lambda size: tuple(map(randBools(size), int))

If you do not mind iterators instead:

randBools = lambda size: (random() < 0.5 for _ in range(size))
randInts = lambda size: map(randBools(size), int)

I like your approach, but what is the difference to mine other than yours requires a bit more code. I am not trying ro sound rude I just don't know the difference. is your approach faster? They look as if they both run in O(size) time so linear time.

Oh nevermind, I understand your alterations. the last one is very clever. Do you still have to import random for the last alterations?
