How to install rpy2

  1. Download and install ActivePython
  2. Buy and install the Business Edition license from account.activestate.com
  3. Open Command Prompt
  4. Type pypm install rpy2
  5. Read the notes specific to this package.

rpy2 contains builds that are only available via PyPM when you have a current ActivePython Business Edition subscription.

R must be installed to use the rpy2 package.

On Linux (32-bit), Linux (64-bit):-

rpy2 of all versions do not work with Ubuntu's own R package. See #44070. A workaround is to roll your own R under /usr/local and then symlink /usr/local/lib64/R to the canonical (pun intended) place.
