This is a JavaScript (node.js too) version of <a href="http://code.activestate.com/recipes/577257/">Recipe 577257</a>.</p> <p>Note: It is missing the guarantee that only ascii characters are passed through. I don't know an NFKD equivalent in JavaScript-land.</p>
