Caveats and limitations:
This module is meant to be simple so it doesn't deal with permissions neither does it provide any "delete" feature.
Neverthrless it does the job I need it for :
Creating keys, setting values, searching for keys or values.
Be carefull about the permission issue : The keys are opened in KEY_ALL_ACCESS mode ...

Delete Registry. Great code!

I wrote some code to delete a key and subkeys:

def delete(self, path):
    # delete a key and subkeys, if necessary
    k = self
    ps = path.split('/')
    for p in ps:
        if p in k.keys:
            if p == ps[-1]:
                k2 = k.parent
                if k.keys: # delete subkeys
                    for k3 in k:
                        self.delete(path + '/' + str(k3))
                else: # without subkeys
                    reg.DeleteKey(k2.wrk, ps[-1])
            else:
                k=k.keys[p]
    return k
