I fixed the build on the 8.5 branch and will merge forward.

A test of that configuration reveals we still have plenty of uses in
Tcl and Tk themselves of the old tracing style. We've not been in a
hurry to purge it.

It seems to me that if we do want to purge it, or pursue any other
cleanup tasks, it would be helpful to first take the enabling step of
converting [trace] into an ensemble. Then no matter what path we choose
it would be easier for dissenters to configure things the other way.

Seems like a good task for anyone who always wanted to patch the core
but needed the right intro project.
