You mean just the bridge to call the the native strtold()?  That'd be 
easily done.  But it would return the same type of NV.  Are you hoping 
that in some platforms strtold() would actually be smarter (or at least 
less stupid) than strtod()?  It would be smarter at least having a more 
modern spec (C99, I think).
