Time::Piece was originally created to be more "human" interface to time
functions than the C std library. (Which sucks on so many levels.) It
was also conceived around the time when the initial perl6 spec process
was going on: I forget exactly which way and in which order the ideas
went, but the coupling was tight and not accidental. I then added it
some point (since the idea was to pick nice ideas off of perl6), but
then removed it, since someone doubted adding it. Then later I
convinced some pumpking to add it back.
